SBIR Responses

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly competitive, U.S. government-funded initiative designed to stimulate technological innovation and support small businesses in meeting federal research and development needs. Administered by various federal agencies, the SBIR program provides funding to small companies to engage in research and development with the potential for commercialization. Through a three-phase process, businesses can receive grants or contracts to explore innovative ideas (Phase I), develop and demonstrate prototypes (Phase II), and transition successful technologies to the market or government use (Phase III). By leveraging the ingenuity and agility of small businesses, the SBIR program fosters economic growth, job creation, and the advancement of cutting-edge technologies that address critical national challenges.
